RESONATE - Myspace review
This Holywell, Wales, based outfit sound like The Manic Street Preachers meet U2, no bad thing by any means. There's some other distinct influences in there, such as Smashing Pumpkins, The Who and even The Verve.
A combination of catchy vocals, good hooks, singable chorus and noddable beat on "Long Shore Drift", they're a refreshing change from some of the dadpop masquerading as rock that this nation's spewing out these days, this band have found a good direction. "Bitter and Change" is a Simple Minds-infused Manics, a slowed-down-but-not-balladic hook, you'd play this while chillin' out with your non-metalhead better half, knowing it wouldn't have them running away. Third track, the title of which we can't quite decipher 'cos Myspace have started shortening titles instead of scrolling them, is very much Manics from around the "Australia" era. "I Feel Fine" ups the tempo a bit, think classic Thin Lizzy and Led Zep.
