Metal-i came about kind of by accident. Originally part of a much bigger site known as i-CORP (originally The Insane Corporate), Metal-i rapidly outgrew the rest of the site and before long, the phenom of METAL-i.COM was born, integrating the parts of the old i-CORP such as the successful i-PLAY games area into the new regime.
Metal-i.com was a success, getting underground and/or unsigned bands noticed by a larger audience. A key component in Metal-i.com's early success was its built-in "radio" station, nicknamed "METAL-i F'inM", using the services provided by the old MP3COM. This allowed METAL-i to reach out to bigger audiences and allowed fans to hear the bands we featured. MP3.COM was "bought out", ie shut down, by Download.com/C-Net early 2004. Unforeseen circumstances forced the sudden termination of Metal-i.com services shortly after :(
Once the correct circumstances arose, it was time for the rebirth of this minor phenom. But in what form? METAL-i.CO.UK arose from the fabled ashes of its .com predeccessor.
METAL-i.CO.UK aims to be be bigger, bolder, any other words beginning with B'er (mmm, beer) than before. We want your reviews, your thoughts, gig news, band news, venues for our venues list. Contact us, and see your name in lights. Or on Metal-i anyway.

GET FEATURED on METAL-i!
We're always on the lookout for new talent to be featured on the site. Bands, if you have a demo, mail us and provide either a sample or whole track and we'll sort a review out, and try getting you some exposure. In certain cases, METAL-i will offer to host a demo track for download by visitors. Venues always wanted to add to our list, doesn't matter where you are, from Devon to Durham, New York to Nevada, we'll list 'em all. If possible, email us a pic of your venue with website address (if you have one), full address details and what sort of bands/events/etc you have there. Submit YOUR reviews!
Seen any good bands lately? Big names or local talent, doesn't matter, we want your reviews. No more than 500 words please folks, provide: band name, venue, date, what the gig was like and how good band was etc, your name, and give the gig a rating out of 5. We'd like info on the band too if you have it, and your review may well appear up on the reviews pages. Send your reviews to "reviews@metal-i.co.uk".
